Spring 2015

The Spring 2015 Indicators Launch and Lunch was held on Thursday April 30, 2015 at the Sobrato Center – Redwood Shores. Almost 120 guests attended the lively event focused on exploring our complex water system with an overview of the drought and the county’s water sources.

Economics of Water: Newsha Ajami, Stanford University’s Water in the West program

Local Water Update: Nicole Sandkulla, General Manager/CEO, Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA)

Summer 2015

The Summer 2015 Indicators Launch and Lunch was held on Tuesday September 1, 2015 at the Sobrato Center – Redwood Shores. Over 60 guests attended the event focused on water conservation efforts among local organizations, government and business. An overview of newly-updated indicators including responses to our annual City/County governments survey was also be covered.

Vanessa Marcadejas, Environmental Specialist from the City of Menlo Park explained water conservation efforts and highlighted the Conserve-A-Scape program

Kellyx Nelson, Executive Director of the San Mateo County Resource Conservation District talked about coastside and agricultural drought concerns and water-saving programs

Katie Excoffier, Sustainability Manager at Genentech discussed how their company has made drastic reductions to their water footprint

Event Q&A

Fall Water Summit

The Water Summit was the culminating event in our 2015 Indicators series featuring water as our key indicator. Speakers explored the interconnections between local efforts to address sea level rise, manage storm water, and recycle water. Over 80 guests attended the event at the San Mateo County Event Center on November 17, 2015.
