
Communications Committee
The primary function is handling all public relations, specifically focusing on promoting and advocating SSMC’s two main programs, the Indicators Report and the Sustainable Awards event. It is also responsible for updating and enhancing the website and issuing a regular newsletter to SSMC’s members and volunteers.

Events Committee
This committee is responsible for the Sustainable Awards Event, which is held annually and is the primary fundraiser for SSMC. It handles the event’s details, including selecting the venue, soliciting sponsors, collecting auction items and selecting the emcee. It also staffs the event.

Management Committee
The Management Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on a variety of things, including personnel decisions, program ideas, and finances and fundraising.

Indicators Report Committee
This committee reviews the content, layout, and formatting of the annual Sustainable San Mateo County Indicators Report. It also issues recommendations to the Report coordinator on how to improve usability and attractiveness to potential readers. Individual committee members take on ad hoc assignments to research and collect data on issues related to the Report and make recommendations to the committee.

Pathway to Sustainable Cities (PSC) Project Committee
This is an ad hoc committee that oversees the new SSMC program. It is chaired by SSMC Executive Director Tyler Hammer and committee members offer exceptional expertise. The new program stems from current widespread concerns with global warming and reaches out to cities and the county to initiate and plan actionable ideas that endorse and implement sustainability.
